REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships.

Entrepreneur High School (EHS) is a dynamic new charter high school currently being built in the Inland Empire, where entrepreneurship is taught across disciplines. The students learn through a project-based curriculum to launch their own companies while still in school.

EHS is looking for an Entrepreneur Teacher who will:

  • Experience as an entrepreneur or teaching entrepreneurship
  • Experience working with entrepreneurial mentors
  • Understanding of entrepreneurship frameworks- Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas, Design Thinking, etc.
  • Experience with Venture Capital pitches
  • Able to connect with local entrepreneurship mentors and coaches
  • Able to connect teaching to real-world application
  • Able to develop business and entrepreneurial curriculum
  • Able to lead integration of entrepreneurship skills into all subject matter
  • Willing to work with community partners in the classroom
  • Experience with project-based learning: a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge
  • Provides continual assessment and accurate tracking of student progress, maintains student work records and portfolios, and completes assigned paperwork in provided timeframes
  • Conducts both student and teacher led parent conferences
  • Consistently implements required and appropriate adaptations and modifications for English Learners, Special Education students, and 504 students
  • Assumes supervision duties as determined by the site, and may occasionally be asked to substitute a period

  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Steady work ethic and a high level of patience to overcome difficult challenges
  • Maintain a high standard of honesty and integrity and present oneself with poise

Additionally, experience in the following areas is helpful:

  • Experience teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • At least two years of experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom preferred

Minimum Requirements:

  • CTE or Business Credential required (may consider candidates with a related credential)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education preferred

Physical demands:

  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods of time
  • Occasional computer work including but not limited to typing
