Additionally, patience and empathy are crucial when dealing with inmates, as they are often dealing with difficult personal and emotional issues.

I handle difficult or non-compliant inmates by remaining calm and composed, and using clear and direct communication to explain the consequences of their actions and what is expected of them. I also try to understand the underlying reasons for their behavior and address any issues or concerns they may have. If necessary, I will involve my supervisors or other members of the facility staff to help resolve the situation.

I am familiar with a wide range of security systems and procedures, including CCTV, metal detectors, and pat-down searches. I have experience conducting security checks and monitoring security footage, as well as experience in conducting emergency procedures and evacuation plans. I am also familiar with the proper use of security equipment such as handcuffs, batons and pepper spray.

I have experience working with inmates who have mental health and addiction issues as a corrections officer at XYZ prison.
