I am trained in the use of a variety of tools and techniques, including fingerprinting, DNA analysis, and bloodstain pattern analysis. I am also knowledgeable about the proper chain of custody procedures.
I have experience with forensic laboratory analysis, including preparing samples for analysis and interpreting the results. I am familiar with the standard operating procedures of various forensic disciplines, such as DNA analysis, toxicology, and trace evidence. I am also able to use laboratory equipment such as microscopes and spectrophotometers to analyze samples.
I have experience with evidence documentation and report writing. I am able to properly document and label evidence, and am able to prepare detailed and accurate reports that include the results of my findings. I also able to present my findings in court if needed.
I have experience with crime scene reconstruction, including analyzing physical evidence and witness statements to determine the sequence of events at a crime scene. I am able to use this information to create a visual representation of the scene, such as a diagram or animation, to assist in the investigation.
I have experience with crime scene photography, including taking photographs that accurately and objectively depict the condition of a crime scene and the location and position of physical evidence. I am familiar with various types of cameras and lighting techniques, and am able to use them to capture high-quality images that are suitable for use as evidence.
I have experience with crime scene safety and decontamination, including taking measures to protect myself and others from hazardous materials and biohazards that may be present at a crime scene. I am trained in the use of protective gear and decontamination procedures, and am able to properly clean and disinfect a crime scene to ensure that it is safe for others to enter.
