Station Jailer Responsibilities & Duties

• Supervising and monitoring the activities of inmates in the detention facility.
• Conducting regular security checks and inspections of cells, facilities, and equipment.
• Ensuring adherence to all facility regulations and maintaining order within the facility.
• Processing and booking incoming inmates, including documentation and fingerprinting.
• Maintaining accurate records of inmate activities and any incidents.
• Providing care and support for inmates' basic needs, including meals and medical attention.
• Facilitating communication between inmates and external parties such as family and legal representatives.
• Handling emergency situations, including conflicts and potential threats, with appropriate protocols.
• Transporting inmates to court appearances and other required locations as necessary.

Station Jailer Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience working in a correctional or law enforcement environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in report writing and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with security software and technology.
• High school diploma or equivalent education level.
• Minimum age requirement, typically 21 years or older.
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
• Certification in a relevant training program (if required by jurisdiction).
• Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
