Convict Guard Responsibilities & Duties

• Maintaining security and order within the correctional facility.
• Monitoring inmate activities and enforcing rules and regulations.
• Conducting regular patrols and inspections of cells and facilities.
• Responding to emergencies and resolving conflicts among inmates.
• Assisting in the transportation of inmates to and from court, medical facilities, or other locations.
• Completing detailed reports on incidents and daily activities.
• Searching inmates and cells for contraband.
• Supervising inmate visitations and communications.
• Coordinating with other correctional staff and law enforcement agencies.
• Providing guidance and support for inmate rehabilitation programs.

Convict Guard Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in law enforcement or corrections.
• Knowledge of security and safety procedures in correctional facilities.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
• Familiarity with correctional facility technology and equipment.
• Previous military experience could be an advantage.
• Multi-language proficiency for better communication with diverse inmate populations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-certified correctional officer training program.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
• Clear background check and drug screening.
• Excellent communication and observation skills.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
