Our mission is to increase diversity in the medical profession, address the clinician shortage in disadvantaged communities, and reduce healthcare disparities in underserved areas. We provide comprehensive STEM education support through mentorship, leadership training, and financial assistance to underserved youth groups in the U.S. Supporting students from high school to medical school graduates, we offer guidance, scholarships, and career development to prepare them for impactful medical careers in underserved communities.


Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role as a Teaching Assistant at The Pathway Initiative Inc., based in Boston, MA, with the flexibility to work remotely on certain tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting educational programs by assisting in teaching, mentoring students, and collaborating with educators to create a positive learning environment. The Teaching Assistant will work directly with students to provide academic assistance and foster their educational and career development goals, particularly in STEM-related areas. Open to college students.


Qualifications

  • Experience in Assistant Teaching and Education with a focus on mentorship and guidance
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with students and families
  • Experience and enthusiasm for Working With Children in educational or mentorship settings
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and promoting STEM education for underserved communities
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, combining on-site and remote responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (or relevant work experience)
  • Prior experience in non-profit or community-based educational programs is a plus
