Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required. At least one year experience working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical hospital setting. Current license as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and TAMHSC guidelines.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Job Detail:

Clinical Teaching Assistant to faculty in the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Nursing. Works under the supervision of a Master’s or Doctorally prepared nursing faculty member in the clinical area only. Assists nursing faculty with the supervision of students during clinical learning experiences. Functions in the role of clinical supervisor, responsible for supervision of students’ skills performance, student evaluation and other aspects of student learning in the clinical setting. Consults with a nursing faculty member in clinical settings. Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

Varies, but usually on Thursdays and Fridays.
