CCP Instructor, Electrician

Lake Worth, Florida

Responsible for providing instruction and performing lab-related activities for the Electrician program. Instructs college students and oversees laboratory activities in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Maintains program standards in accordance with accreditation standards. A CCP Instructor will spend approximately 80% of the time teaching and 20% of the time handling classroom administration.

What a day of a CCP Instructor, Electrician looks like:

  • Teaches courses in accordance with published course descriptions, schedules, procedures, and course outlines furnished to students.

  • Designs and prepares curriculum of course-related materials. Prepares and delivers online training content in support of classroom instruction.

  • Performs all electrician processes in accordance with NCCER specifications and procedures, including electrical and electronic wiring and repair techniques, diagnosing malfunctioning systems, and inspecting for demonstration and testing purposes during lab activities.

  • Demonstrates conduit destructive analysis and non-destructive analysis procedures in a lab environment.

  • Assesses students’ proficiency, conducts on-going evaluation, prepares grade reports of student progress, and maintains records of student course performance.

  • Develops and maintains various assessment instruments and supplemental educational materials. Develops testing instruments and administers final examinations.

  • Follows established safety practices. Conducts basic maintenance on equipment within the industrial trade program lab according to OSHA and related safety standards.

  • Plans and documents current and future inventory needs. Assists in preparing specifications for purchases of materials, supplies, and equipment.

  • Manages, controls, and disposes of hazardous materials within a lab environment.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in electrical technology or related discipline; and related industry experience OR

  • Electrical Journeyman or Electrical Contractor license; and related industry experience OR

  • Electrical industry training culminating in an industry-recognized credential (e.g., NCCER) AND

  • Five or more years of related industry experience

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication

Ability to:

  • Demonstrate and use the technology required for the assigned course

  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public

  • Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and on multiple campuses if needed

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required
