The Department of Biology at North Carolina A&T State University, College of Science and Technology, invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty teaching assistant or teaching associate position starting in August 2026. This is a nine (9) month, full-time, non-tenure track teaching assistant professor position. A higher rank might be considered for qualified candidates. The initial appointment for the position is two years, and it is eligible for renewal.Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The College of Science and Technology enrolls 2514 students. It is a national leader that serves and engages the citizens of the state of North Carolina, the nation, and the world through preeminence in science and technology education, research, discovery, and innovation. The College houses the departments of Applied Engineering Technology, Biology, Built Environment, Chemistry, Computer Systems Technology, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and the Ph.D. Program of Applied Science Technology. The College is experiencing substantial growth in enrollment, faculty size, curricula, and research.Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold a PhD in Biological Sciences or Biology Education, with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Biology. For an appointment as a teaching assistant professor, a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences or Biology Education is required. The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching diverse populations and have two or more years of college/university-level teaching experience.Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
The successful applicant will demonstrate ability to adopt and practice student-centered, active learning strategies and pedagogy, as well as have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
