Senior Vice President, State Strategy & Partnerships
Project Lead The Way

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) invites nominations and applications for the inaugural Senior Vice President for State Strategy and Partnerships, a strategically important role for PLTW at a moment when the organization’s growth model evolves toward a state-based strategy for scale, sustainability, and influence.

PLTW is dedicated to transforming PreK–12 education through hands-on, activity-, project-, and problem-based learning that connects classroom experiences to college, careers, and the real world. Founded more than 28 years ago by educators, PLTW has developed a national ecosystem spanning engineering, biomedical science, computer science, and other STEM and career-connected fields. Its reach is substantial: during the 2024–25 school year, PLTW programs were offered in 12,575 schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching approximately 2.36 million students through more than 16,000 programs. PLTW has trained more than 125,000 teachers, and its curriculum exposes students to more than 280 STEM careers, giving PLTW an unusually broad platform for influencing how young people understand and prepare for the changing world of work.

The opportunity for the SVP is to develop a deliberate state-by-state strategy for influencing policy, unlocking funding, building coalitions, and driving adoption at scale. The SVP will identify priority states, build enterprise growth plans, and own performance outcomes across adoption, revenue, and partnerships. The role drives government relations, policy advocacy, and lobbying while monitoring state education trends and removing barriers to statewide expansion. Externally, the SVP serves as PLTW's senior representative to policymakers, state agencies, and strategic partners; internally, they coordinate cross-functional teams and partner closely with the SVP of Engagement to translate state strategy into measurable business and student-impact results.
