Basic Function/Definition
Automotive Technology currently consists of General Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Alternative Fuels, Bureau of Automotive Smog Programs and Factory supported programs. Among the courses taught are beginning, intermediate and advanced classes. Classes are offered both on and off the campus during the day, evenings and weekends. Facilities on campus included 6 labs which all have been remodeled and a fleet of 80 training vehicles. The program is NATEF certified in Automotive, ATMA Certified- Association of Technology Management, and Applied Technology, ATTS Certified- Automotive Technician Training Standards. The successful candidate must be ASE certified in G1, and all eight (master) certified in order to teach plus L1 for those teaching Engine Performance within one year of employment.Essential Duties
Minimum Qualifications
For faculty assigned to teach upper division courses in disciplines where the master’sdegree is not generally expected or available, but where a related bachelor’s or associatedegree is generally expected or available, possession of either:(A) any master’s degree or equivalent foreign degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment (automotive technology) and any appropriate licensure; or (B) any bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment (automotive technology) and any appropriate licensure.Equivalencies

Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
License Certificates/Credentials
Full and current Automotive Service Excellence, (ASE) Certification in A1-Engine Repair, A2-Automatic Transmission, A3-Manual Drive Train and Axles, A4-Suspension and Steering,A5-Brakes, A6-Engine Repair, A7-Electrical/Electrical Systems, A8-Engine Performance.ASE G1-CertificationASE L1 Certification as well as all other ASE Educational Foundation/NATEF Standards for current Program Instructor Certification.Desired Qualifications
