The Family and Consumer Sciences Education program at Texas Tech University seeks an energetic faculty member who is committed to the highest standards of scholarship and professional activities, and to the development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity. The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. In addition, the applicant will be expected to perform graduate student advising, serve on thesis and dissertation committees, supervise student teachers or graduate interns, recruit for the program, and provide service to department, the college, and the University as necessary. Opportunities for leadership within the FCSE Program exist. The preferred applicant will be an active leader in professional, university, and community service/outreach. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and obtain external funding appropriate for the standards of a research-intensive university. Salary commensurate with qualifications and rank. A research stipend is available to new faculty. Opportunities for summer compensation are available. A Doctorate in Family and Consumer Sciences Education or a related family and consumer sciences field is required. Graduate coursework in teacher preparation is preferred. Applicant must hold a current teaching credential and high school and/or middle school teaching experience in family and consumer sciences is preferred. Evidence of effective teaching is expected and preferred at the university level.
